Prepare for a flurry of excitement and join us for VBS 2017!
You won't want to miss a minute! At Operation Arctic, your kids will warm up to the Word as they explore the coolest Book on the planet and discover how we can know for sure that the Bible is God's written word to us! Grab your parka and your snow boots and let's go!
Online registration is closed, but walk-ins are welcome!
Have you packed your Bible? We'll be learning all about the breathtakingly beautiful book that is filled with treasure and thrilling to explore! As we venture into the cold tundra, each day we'll discover that the BIBLE is the Book of books, has an Incredible impact upon our world, is the Bedrock base of our lives, is a Letter of love from God, and is Exciting to explore as we learn it, love it, and live it!
And speaking of our day, it begins when everyone meets at Snowfall Station for the opening assembly that includes entertaining welcomes, rocking' songs, and the highly anticipated daily drama. Then we take off to rotate through some fun sites: Treasure Point Bible Time, Glacier Gap Games, Klondike Corner Snacks, Discovery Pass Crafts, and Top of the World Tunes. After finishing the day's rotations, everyone heads back to Snowfall Station for the closing assembly, which includes more singing, contest results, a mission moment, and prayer.
Take the plunge with us and let's go!
Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival (8:50am) - Please escort your children in and out of the building each day. Stop at the Welcome Lodge so children can pick up their name tags. Group names will be listed on each child's name tag. Inside Snowfall Station (main auditorium), each group will have a sign posted near their seats. Here you can meet your child's Team Guide, sign in, and give us any special instructions. All children must be signed in and out every day.
Dismissal (12:15pm) - After signing out your child with their group leader, you will need to show your Family ID card before exiting. If you are a member of Covenant Fellowship Church, you will use the same ID card that you use for Promise Kingdom. Guests to Covenant Fellowship Church will receive Family ID cards at registration. Please remember to bring your Family ID card to pick up your child, as this will expedite dismissal. Children will only be released to an adult listed in answer to the pick-up release question on the registration form.
What's in store for us this week?
Crafts to discover, cool games, sweet treats, and so much more! We've got the scoop on them all right here!
We'll be inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs - here's a map so you don't get lost!
If you child has food sensitivities, our Snack crew has put together an ingredients list for all the snacks being served this week. Please let us know if any accommodations for your child need to be made.
Mark your calendars for Family Night on Thursday, June 29 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm! Children will share songs, truths, and Bible verses they have learned this week. They are welcome to sit with you and will be called up to the stage by Team Name. The program also includes a slide show of what we have been doing all week and concludes with fun games and a special treat out on the front lawn. Please remember to take your child's crafts home at the end of the evening.
We will be running several contests throughout VBS for fun. Your child may need help to remember or complete some of the tasks. These are optional, but participation will add to their overall experience.
Mission Mountain: Students will be raising money for our mission project. Boys and girls will compete to see who brings in the most money each day. As money is collected, our VBS Explorer will climb Mission Mountain. Our goal is to reach the top of the mountain and plant our Operation Arctic flag on its peak.
Amazing Arctic Adventures: Explorers have the opportunity to earn points throughout the week by attending VBS, bringing a friend, learning the daily memory verse, and completing and returning their VBS page of the day. These points are collected daily and averaged to determine which exploration team will escort our arctic animal for the day.
Extraordinary Explorers: Extraordinary explorers are participants that exemplify qualities of future Exploration Guides - patience, kindness, initiative, helpfulness, attentiveness, and encouragement. Those nominated by their Group Leader will be recognized and honored on our last day of VBS.
This week at Snowfall Station we will be learning about Covenant Mercies, a Christian ministry of compassion serving orphans in partnership will indigenous local churches in the developing world. Covenant Mercies has partnered with churches in Zambia, Ethiopia, and Uganda. This week's daily mission offering collection will benefit the funding of Lighthouse Christian School's computer lab. We'll even have a contest going to see who can raise the most money - the boys or the girls! For more information about Covenant Mercies please visit their website at www.covenantmercies.org.
